NATURAL GAS
Wikipedia Liquefied natural gas (LNG) is natural gas (predominantly methane, CH4, with some mixture of ethane, C2H6) that has been cooled down to liquid form for ease and safety of non-pressurized storage or transport. It takes up about 1/600th the volume of natural gas in the gaseous state (at standard conditions for temperature and pressure). It is odorless, colorless, non-toxic and non-corrosive. Hazards include flammability after vaporization into a gaseous state, freezing and asphyxia. The liquefaction process involves removal of certain components, such as dust, acid gases, helium, water, and heavy hydrocarbons, which could cause difficulty downstream. The natural gas is then condensed into a liquid at close to atmospheric pressure by cooling it to approximately −162 °C (−260 °F); maximum transport pressure is set at around 25 kPa (4 psi).

- THE IMPACT OF A DISCOVERY OF
A NEW GAS FIELD OFF CYPRUS
Energy Analyst 2018 (5.22)
Perched on the maritime edge of two massive gas finds in the Levant Basin - Leviathan off Israel and Zohr off Egypt, Cyprus, which still relies on heavy and expensive fuel oil for its power stations, has been
keen to emulate its neighbours’ success.
But it also lies in a region of
overlapping rivalries and geopolitical risk.
This video looks at the impact of a recent discovery of a new Gas field off the coast of Cyprus and what is next for Mediterranean gas.
ISRAEL TRIALS NEW MOBILITY SOLUTIONS
TO ELIMINATE USE OF CRUDE OIL
CNH INDUSTRIAL 2017 (3.344)
The digital era taking place within the transport sector has created a new global point of reference for intelligent mobility innovations - a far cry from the once traditionally capital role of the automotive industry.
One important case can be found in the State of Israel. In 2010, it confirmed its objective to reduce crude oil consumption by 60% within 2025. And they are not alone: attention and investment to the field of alternative fuels has become more compelling than ever. This is demonstrated by the eight global Research & Development centers dedicated to alternative fuels that have been established in recent years. The main players behind this disruptive change in the transport sector converged in Tel Aviv for two days at the fifth edition of the Fuel Choices and Smart Mobility Summit.
